ΓÜá∩╕Å Golden Rule: No Viewing Fees

Never pay "viewing fees" or deposits before seeing the property. Legitimate landlords and agents will allow you to inspect the property first. Pay only when you are satisfied and ready to sign the agreement.

For Tenants (Renters)

Inspect Physically: Never rent a property based solely on photos. Visit the location, check the condition of the house, water availability, and security.
Meet at the Property: Arrange to meet the landlord or agent at the property itself. Avoid secluded meeting spots.
Verify Ownership: Ask for proof of ownership or authorization to rent out the property before making any payments.
Sign an Agreement: Always insist on a written lease agreement detailing the rent, duration, and terms. Read it carefully before signing.
Traceable Payments: Use bank transfers or mobile money with a clear reference. Avoid untraceable cash payments if possible, or demand a valid receipt immediately.

For Landlords & Agents

Screen Tenants: It's okay to ask for identification and references from potential tenants.
Secure Your Property: Ensure your property is secure during viewings.

Reporting Suspicious Activity

If you encounter a suspicious listing (e.g., too cheap to be true) or a user asking for upfront fees, please report it immediately using the "Report" button on the ad page or contact us at support@mpangaji.com.
